Meet our Magnificent Makers
Little Inventors wants children to open their eyes to the world of invention and creativity. But beyond the invention drawings, there is a unique opportunity for children and makers, designers and artists to come together and collaborate to bring children’s imagination to life.
By taking children’s ideas seriously and presenting them in a professional manner through collaboration with skilled makers, we will help showcase children’s original ideas, perspectives and voices.
We also want to challenge the skills and experience of adult makers, and encourage them to push beyond their own limits by engaging with the highly imaginative and unhindered minds of young children.Do you make things?
Join the fun!
Visual arts has always been a strong part of how I connect to the world. The creativity of young minds is my driving inspiration. I enjoy re-contextualizing children's artwork through in-depth collaboration with my craft work. Mixed media elements allow me to fully describe the emotion of a piece and reiterate unconventional characteristics of children's designs.
I'm an animator and model-maker based in Northumberland. I combine digital animation techniques with more traditional methods like stop motion. I enjoy sharing my skills with others - I'm an Associate Lecturer at Northumbria University and an animation mentor with TICE - introducing children to what it is like working in creative industries.
I run a makerspace called Machines Room and i'm Chief Maker at Little Inventors!
I studied art, and love design. I do lots of DIY, fixing and helping others make things.
A vast and animated attraction showcasing Canada’s captivating vistas, landmarks and cityscapes in miniature scale, Little Canada aims to entertain and educate guests every tiny step of the way. From The Rockies to the Maritimes and up to the Arctic North, a new landscape to explore is around the corner – it’s an experience for all ages.
Today, with a team of talented individuals, experts in their respective field, and thousands of working hours, the dream is coming to life.
I'm a creator, a maker, an industrial designer. I enjoy the mix of scale and materials my work brings, designing one-off and art-based items, alongside mass-produced objects and individual interiors, furniture and lighting.
Learning the processes is key, knowledge of a workshop/factory informs the designer to create better objects. It's why making and documenting Little Inventors ideas will create the next generation of designers!
